
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Kenner Police reported that Melvin McClinton Sr. died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds after killing his 3-year-old son, Carmelo.
Family members told police that McClinton Sr. was struggling emotionally and mentally following the loss of his 18-year-old son, Melvin McClinton, who was shot and killed on Feb. 5.

Earlier, McClinton Sr. was in critical condition after shooting Carmelo and then himself.
Authorities noted that an argument with Carmelo’s mother led to the shootings. The investigation is ongoing.
